The Nissan Z is already a very attractive sports car in the eyes of most people, but the Japanese automaker has just unveiled a retro-inspired concept that is sure to appeal to—and bring back fond memories for—those who owned a sports car in the 1990s.
With its Pacific Teal blue paint and T-Top roof, it is safe to say that the Nissan Z Kaze does not go unnoticed. The Japanese automaker chose to unveil the concept at the famous ZCON, a gathering dedicated to owners and enthusiasts of all seven generations of the Z.
A Well-Thought-Out Concept
The name Kaze simply means “wind” in Japanese, referring to the unique open-air experience offered by the T-Top roof on Nissan’s new concept. The automaker could have stopped there, but the designers went even further by fitting the car with a stunning set of authentic 18-inch NISMO LMGT2 wheels that were specially restored for the concept. The car also features widened fenders to accommodate the wheels, which measure 10 inches wide at the front and 11 inches at the rear. The Z Kaze also receives a vented hood, giving it an even more aggressive appearance.
The Japanese automaker’s sports car is just as flamboyant inside as it is on the outside. Among other features, it comes with white leather seats with Bose speakers integrated directly into the headrests.
A Performance Car
The Nissan Z Kaze’s upgrades are not limited to aesthetics. For the occasion, Nissan engineers fitted the concept with NISMO suspension components. The concept also benefits from a SUPREME SP exhaust system and several other upgraded mechanical components. Unfortunately, Nissan has not released any performance figures for the car.
Even though it is only a concept, the Nissan Z Kaze has certainly attracted plenty of attention. Would you be interested if the Japanese automaker decided to add such a car to its lineup?
