At Airport Nissan we are very proud to offer our customers one of the most innovative and unique cars on the road, the all-electric Nissan Leaf. First launched in 2011, the Leaf was ahead of its time then, and is even more so now, having developed in leaps and bounds compared to even its own predecessors.
The biggest leap taken forward by Nissan engineers with the Nissan Leaf is the quicker charging times, thanks notably to a 6.6-kilowatt charger installed onboard which has cut the required zero-to-full charging time in half since the first Leaf model was launched. And once charged, the larger new battery in the 2016 Leaf offers a longer range than any other electric vehicle on the market.
For 2016, the SL and SV models of the Nissan Leaf come with new 30-kwh batteries that provide a total range of 170 kilometers, while the S trim's smaller battery lets you ride up to 135 kilometers on a single charge. Tests carried out showed that even frequent use of the car's climate control system did little to reduce the range of the battery, which should be music to the ears of Canadian consumers faced with our climate extremes!
The 2016 Nissan Leaf is designed and built to provide a balance between maximal efficiency and performance that equals gasoline-engine cars in the same segment. As an all-electric vehicle, the Leaf offers 107 HP and 187 lb/ft of torque that are fully available at all speeds with the single-speed automatic transmission.
One significant innovation that greatly improves efficiency and battery range specifically during city driving is the regenerative braking technology developed by Nissan, which takes energy generated during braking and transfers it back to the battery.
Investing in a clean car like the all-electric Nissan Leaf should not preclude benefiting from the same kind of interior bling you expect from a new car today. So Nissan has included in the 2016 Leaf its Intelligent Key system, which allows you to leave your key in your pocket to open and start your car. Both front and rear seats are heated, the rear seats are split-foldable, and the Leaf is Bluetooth-ready and is fitted with the NissanConnect system that includes a 5-inch color display, mobile apps and hands-free texting. You even get a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel!
At Airport Nissan our Nissan experts will be happy to explain these and all the other features available in the remarkable all-electric Nissan Leaf, now faster-charging and equipped with all the luxury-inspired elements you could hope for in a 2016 car. So come in and test drive it today!
